California is honored to host events that enrich our state’s diversity and
promote the physical and mental well-being of its residents and visitors.
Through self-discipline and hard work, all of today’s competitors will
showcase remarkable skill and spirit.

As a former professional athlete, I know firsthand the desire and commitment
it takes to be successful. All of you participating have worked very hard to
get to this point in your athletic careers, and while not everyone can finish in
first place, I am certain that every Kyokushin practitioner is a talented athlete
with tremendous heart.
